AA Weaponry hw 1

"Aderyn Harket, Aleki Salkhir, Shadow-" The demon woman glared at the shadow demon, "Rin Satsaki and Zavier Hitsum, you are the Red Team, the rest of you are Team Blue.  The rules are simple, get the other team's flag, get it back to your base, no special abilities," She shot another glare at the shadow demon, "and no severe maiming if it can be avoided, oh and stay in the school grounds.  I will be monitoring your progress."  The woman finished with a flick of her tail and walked off, disappearing and leaving the 10 students in the clearing.
The two teams broke up and went their separate directions.  Each getting a simple treehouse base somewhere in the forests surrounding the academy.
"She was glaring at me the whole time."  Shadow said crossing his arms over his chest sitting on the floor as the red team gathered in their base, Aleki was standing against the rotting wooden wall watching for the signal from the teacher to signal the start.
"That's because you're the main problem Freak." Zavier said rolling his eyes.  Rin put her hands on her hips wondering why she was teamed up with these boys.
"We seriously need to plan our strategy and forget why the teacher hates Shadow here."  Aderyn commented as he went over to join Aleki.
There was a loud bang and a flash in the sky and everyone got quiet.  It was dusk, and time to start.
"Rin, Aderyn, you stay here and protect the flag, we'll go get the other team's." Zavier said smirking.
"Who made you leader Sparkles?"  Shadow commented getting up from his perch on the ground, he fixed his backpack on his back and took his stick out and held it in his hand, ready for the fighting that would certainly come tonight.
"So what are we waiting for?"  Aleki said already moving for the exit of the base.
Shadow went to the window and watched his team move out, Aleki went for a tree route and this made Shadow sigh and question his abilities, Zavier dropped down to the ground and took the more direct route, Shadow saw Rin and Aderyn move to their spots to better guard the flag.
Shadow pulled his black hood over his head and ported the last bit to the ground, he moved quietly to the shadows, he saw the first attacker, Turan the dark elf.
It took some control not to make a snorting sound as he saw Turan aiming an arrow at Zavier.  Shadow stayed in the shadows a bit to see the start of that fight.  The vampire hadn't noticed Turan yet, Shadow smirked as he waited.
Foooom.
The almost soundless arrow hit the vampire in the shoulder and he knew exactly where it came from, he pulled it out and ice formed on the wound, cracking and falling off in places.  Shadow looked more closely, he was learning.
"Ahh, roomie, I've been waiting for this."  Zavier smiled and took his sword and readied it, Shadow looked over at the Elf and saw him drawing another arrow, aiming it at Zavier again.
Shadow rolled his and moved further, he wasn't about to let Aleki beat him in reaching the flag first.
He moved in the shadows, his crimson eyes combing the darkness as he searched for any enemy. It wasn't long before his eyes fell on the second enemy, it was Kimmie, but she hadn't spotted him and he decided to let her pass, his target was reaching the flag and getting it back before Aleki could.  He quickened his pace and got low, he didn't want anyone to see him.
It wasn't long however before someone did find him, and by find it was more of running into him, he hadn't seen the person until he was almost run over.  
The person who ran into him ended up on the ground and he was left standing glaring down at her, it was Yuki the ice demon.  He readied his stick in front of him and called the blade, it grew out of it and looked deadly held in his hands.  He held his scythe up over his head at her sword, he was going to enjoy fighting her.
Suddenly her sword dropped to the ground with a loud clatter and Shadow raised an eyebrow at her, he was about to laugh when she suddenly smirked and snow crashed onto him, pushing him to the ground and almost crushing his ribcage.  The air left him in a woosh and he took a sharp breath.
Yuki rubbed her hands together proudly and picked up her sword, she was about to walk off when something grabbed onto her leg.  She stifled a shriek and stared down at Shadow's hand around her ankle, his head was down, his dark brown hair soaked with the melting snow.  He raised his head and it was clear on his face that he was angry.  He pushed himself up and out from under the pile of snow, his scythe still in his hand, Yuki too shocked to run away.
Shadow pulled his scythe back up over his head like he was doing just before he got crushed, he wasn't going to kill her, but he wasn't going to just let her get away with what she did to him.  He smirked right before she suddenly fell to her knees and started crying, he stared down at her, lowered his scythe and scratched his head, he wasn't sure how to handle people when they cried.  He didn't like her and he was against her right now, but … she was after all still a student here.
He was about to ask what was wrong when she grabbed his leg and pulled it out from under him, he fell onto his back, his head snapping back and making him black out for a bit, when he gathered himself again he saw her running off.
He cursed under his breath before getting up and brushing himself off, he shouldn't stay at one place for too long, anyone could come along and attack him.  He sprinted back into the shadows, urgency now clear, Aleki was way ahead of him now.
He ran through the forest and realized he wasn't making much headway, he was too far away still, he disappeared behind a tree and looked around, making sure there was no one around.  He smirked when he saw no one.
He closed his eyes and concentrated on where he needed to be and not even a half second later he appeared behind a tree a few feet from the Blue team's base.  He leaned around the tree and focused on the rotting wood structure up in the branches of another huge tree.  He peered inside and saw Lillium walking around, occasionally staring out an opening at the surroundings, making sure no one came.  She sighed and sat down, only to get up moments later to look out at the surroundings again.
Shadow kept his distance and watched her for a little while longer, he wondered where Venus was, but he didn't care much, Venus was a cluts, and in his mind not a threat.
He suddenly heard a rustling in the trees and looked up, and sure enough he saw someone perched up in a tree, it was Aleki.
Shadow growled and swiftly ran up to the tree, using the shadows created by the trees blocking the moonlight, he was virtually invisible as he moved.
He heard a chirping and then saw two birds coming from Aleki's tree and swooping into the treehouse, there was a commotion inside and seconds later the birds came flying out with the flag between them.
"HEY~! Give that back!"  Lillium yelled after the birds.
"Good job." Shadow heard Aleki whisper to the birds before he saw him snatching the flag and disappearing through the trees back to their base.
Shadow cursed again and ran after him, not caring if anyone saw him now, he kept his eyes on Aleki's trail as he jumped from branch to branch making leaves flutter down.
As he wasn't looking where he was running he ran straight into someone again, and in retrospect he should have gave more attention to where Venus was.
As he ran into her he fell over her, they rolled and came to a stop on the ground a few meters away, Shadow shot up ready to glare and maybe attack her, but he wasn't paying attention to where he was and didn't see the branch handing low and he shot right up into it, knocking his head and making him black out.  The last thing he saw before hitting the ground again was Venus with her hand over her mouth, trying not to laugh and look concerned.
When he woke back up he was in the blue team's base, Lillium and Venus standing over him.
"Hey look!  He finally woke up!"  Lillium smirked, she had her hands crossed over her chest and held back a laugh.  Venus was standing next to her, her hands on her hips, smirking.
Shadow was about to yell a few curses at them when he realized he couldn't move, he looked down and saw the ropes around him, he hissed and looked around for his back and scythe, which were in the opposite corner against the wall.
"Your team won't be able to win without the WHOLE team AND the flag being back at your base, so they'll have to come back and get you."  Venus said glaring down at him.
He didn't say anything as he thought about earlier, he should have paid more attention to where Venus was.
The three spent a good part of the night in the base, waiting for the others.  Shadow pouted and cursed the entire time, never giving up to try and wriggle himself free of the ropes, but it was useless, the girls made sure he wouldn't get out, they even tied a rope connecting him to a tree to make sure he couldn't just teleport away.
"I'm here for the freak."  All three's heads snapped to the exit, a glare replacing Shadow's shocked look when he realized who it was.
"SHUT UP SPARKLES!"  Shadow yelled trying to break free again, he thrashed around yelling curses and threats now at the vampire outside.
Lillium went to the window and stared down at him.  "Do you have our flag?"  She yelled down.
"Yes, your flag for the freak, like you asked."  Zavier called up at them, the blue flag in his hand, there was blood on his face and his shirt was ripped here and there.
Lillium smiled and looked back into the base.  She motioned to Venus to go down and get the flag, which she did.  Moments later Venus came back bouncing on her feet, she smiled and held up the flag triumphantly.
They untied Shadow enough so he could get up and threw him out the window at Zavier before he could protest.
Zavier caught him and smirked, he was lucky Shadow wasn't heavy, and Shadow was lucky vampires were strong.
Shadow struggled in Zavier's grasp but the vampire didn't put him down as they walked into the forest away from the base.  When they were far enough from the other base Zavier put Shadow back down and untied him, all the while smirking at how red Shadow was, he was known for his blushing.
Seconds later there was another loud boom and flash in the night sky signaling the end of the first assignment.
They all went back to the clearing where they first started and there they found Oriosis and Nurse Marie who was treating Turan and Kimmie, as well as Rin.  
Oriosis stood on a rock, her arms over her chest, she sneered down at the two new arrivals, Zavier and Shadow.
"Good, everyone's here."  She said looking around the clearing at the ten students.  A smile played across her lips and she paused for a while to watch each and every student's face.  "You all do remember my rules down you?"
She seemed to look straight at Shadow before continuing. "And from what I've observed throughout the night I have came to the conclusion that."  She paused making sure everyone was listening. "That the blue team has won."  She smirked.
Aleki was the first to speak up. "But we were the first to get the flag!"
"But you didn't get it back to the base with EVERYONE on your team there." She retorted smirking right at Shadow again.
"But we did everything right!" Zavier yelled stepping forward. "The freak should get bad grades then, not the whole team!"
"Hey!"  Shadow yelled back.
"Your team lost, simple as that, and Shadow, didn't I mention that little rule about not using abilities?  Your team lost because of you, sort it out on your own.  Marie get the students back to the academy."  The demon woman said before turning around and teleporting back to the school.
Within seconds of the teacher disappearing into fin air the entire Red team's glares were on Shadow, where the blue team celebrated their victory.
Nurse Marie made sure everyone were patched up and ready before she led them back to the school, ignoring the students' chatter.
